Welcome To Saint John’s Baptist Church Lakeview
For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13 (NKJV)
Our Pastors
WILLIAM AND HAZEL THOMAS
The Pastors at Saint John’s Baptist Church Lakeview believe God loves you. His unconditional love is available to all who are ready to receive it. We invite you to experience God’s love through our service. The Bible says, “And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.” 1 John 4:16 (NKJV)
Our Mission
Our belief is God is still God and the Word still works. ”In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone one. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it” John 1: 1-5 (NLT)
What We Believe
We base our belief in biblical scripture. The Holy Bible is the written Word of God and without error. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5,6 (NKJV)
Relationship With God
Our belief is everyone should be in an intimate personal relationship with God through His only begotten Son Jesus by yielding to His word. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." John 3:16,17 (NKJV)
The Trinity
Our belief is in one God who exists in three separate spiritual beings: The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. The Father is the creator of all things and is actively involved with humanity. God created His only begotten Son Jesus as the Savior of the world. We believe the Father created The Holy Spirit as the Helper. Jesus said “ All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 28:18, 19 (NKJV)
Salvation
We believe Jesus was crucified and died on a cross. He shed His blood for our sins, He was buried, and rose again the third day. He is the atoning sacrifice that covers the unholy things which puts distance between God and humanity. “For there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12 (NKJV)
Water Baptism
Our belief in water baptism symbolizes a public declaration of our faith and submissiveness in Jesus Christ. “And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.” Acts 22:16 (NKJV)
Communion
We believe in receiving the Holy communion frequently as a demonstration remembering, Jesus sacrificed His body and His blood on the cross for us. “And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you.” Luke 22:19,20 (NKJV)
Give
We believe, we are blessed to be a blessing about preaching the word of God and meeting the needs of people. Be a part of changing lives by giving.
The Bible says in Malachi 3:10 (NKJV), “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, And try Me in this, Says the Lord of host, If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.”
Your giving is making a difference to you and your family, in this church, our community, and the world.
